Remembering Reggie Jones; Dellwood mayor honored at funeral

ST. LOUIS – A procession of police and first responders made their way to New Sunny Mount Baptist Church in St. Louis City’s Mark Twain neighborhood as family and friends gathered to pay their respects to Dellwood Mayor Reggie Jones, who died last month.

“The people attending the funeral we’re transferring them from their car to the church,” Ricky Collins said. “It’s for two reasons. One is the extreme heat. Two is to support the Jones family.”

With temperatures at 95 degrees by midday, a golf cart ride was welcome for all who gathered to honor the former Dellwood Mayor and Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club director. He was involved with the club for 30 years…
