ST. LOUIS – Prosecutors have charged three individuals who police say were arrested in “reckless driving” incidents over the weekend, including one who reportedly injured two people in a crash that followed a police pursuit.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has issued the following charges:
- Augustine Aghaeze, 41, of Southlake, Texas, has been charged with one count of interfering with arrest, detention or stop.
- Robert Williams, 18, of St. Louis, has been charged with resisting arrest and tampering with a motor vehicle.
- Victor Moore, 29, of St. Louis, has been charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention – causing physical injury.
In each case, police say the driver ran a red light and attempted to evade officers as they attempted a traffic stop, according to probable cause statements and St. Louis police crime summary reports.
Investigators say Aghaeze led officers on a brief pursuit and made it into Illinois for a time, but he surrendered after responding officers deployed spike strips.
