ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis County man with multiple prior convictions was found guilty in federal court on Wednesday for firearm charges after police found him with two loaded guns in his car with magazines capable of holding up to 100 rounds.
The case started with a traffic stop on June 18, 2024 in Hazelwood. A Hazelwood police officer stopped now 44-year-old Paris D. McPeters, after he failed to stay in his lane on the road. The officer later learned that McPeters had an active warrant and arrested him.
Before the car was towed, the officer asked McPeters if there were guns or drugs inside. McPeters said “yeah”, according to evidence and testimony at trial.

A search of his vehicle followed, and officers found a 5.56-caliber semi-automatic rifle with a loaded 100-round drum magazine and five more loaded large-capacity magazines, prosecutors said.
