Man drove stolen car in Bevo street takeover, police say

ST. LOUIS – A 21-year-old was arrested Monday in connection with a street takeover in the Bevo neighborhood in which a stolen car was torched on the roadway.

According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, callers reported a street takeover just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, at Gravois Avenue and Morgan Ford Road.

By the time police responded, they found a vehicle ablaze near Das Bevo. A woman told FOX 2 News that the torched vehicle was her Kia Soul, which she reported stolen the previous morning.

Investigators eventually identified Andrew W. Patterson as the person driving the Kia Soul during the takeover. Patterson was also seen on the hood of the vehicle, kicking in the windshield…
