MADISON COUNTY, Ill. – A portion of Interstate 270 is closed Thursday morning after a person was killed in an multi-vehicle crash in Glen Carbon.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the crash occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on westbound I-270 east of IL-157. The crash involved four vehicles.

All westbound lanes on I-270 are closed as officials investigate and work to clear the scene, ISP said. Westbound traffic is being diverted to IL-159 as the investigation continues.
