Officials to discuss potential charges in Berkeley road rage shooting

BERKELEY, Mo. – Police are set to meet with prosecutors to discuss possible charges stemming from a fatal road rage shooting last week in Berkeley.

According to acting Berkeley Police Chief Steve Runge, investigators are scheduled to meet with prosecutors Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, funeral services for 59-year-old Vance Townes, the man killed in the incident, are set to be held Thursday in St. Charles.

The incident occurred on Sept. 22 around 11 p.m. in a parking lot near Hanley and Frost avenues. Runge said Townes became frustrated with how slowly another man in a Honda was driving in front of him.
