ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A group led by Jim Roos of Sustainable Cleaning & Greening is clearing overgrown vacant lots in north St. Louis, work Roos says is needed to make room for new development and prevent illegal dumping.
Roos previously described overgrown lots as a problem holding the area back. “The leftover trees foster vines and brush, and that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Then people start dumping next to it or on it. It hides visibility, and so it just feeds on itself,” Roos said in August.
