St. Louis City rushes to restore railroad crossing quiet zones

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Railroad quiet zones, which have been in place for more than two decades in St. Louis, could be restored by December, city leaders said Wednesday. It’s after unresolved requirements were left unaddressed for 18 years.

The Federal Railroad Administration suspended quiet zones at all 187 crossings in St. Louis on Sept. 10 due to incomplete physical repairs and 18 years of unfiled paperwork.
