Looks like Walmart’s drone delivery service will have to find another suburb to operate out of after the Kirkwood City Council brought the bill forward for a vote and no member made a motion to advance it.
Citizens like Judith came to speak against the drone operation, citing numerous reasons. Mostly noise.
“Drones are banned across all land and water administered by the National Park Service because drones frighten animals, cause stress and disrupt natural behaviors. Low flying drones ruin the natural soundscape and disturb peace and quiet,” Judith stated at Thursday night’s Kirkwood City Council meeting. Given how much money Walmart makes, Judith suggested a fine for violating a noise ordinance would be meaningless…
