ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis County man recently surprised his wife with a $100,000 prize from a Missouri Lottery scratchers game.
The man said he’s a longtime $100 Million Cash Bonanza player and decided to stop at the Schnucks store on Manchester Road in Ballwin to buy a ticket.
“I usually take the tickets home to my wife and let her scratch them, but I decided to check it first before I left,” he said.

He scratched off the barcode on the ticket but left the play area covered. He scanned the scratchers ticket and learned he won $100,000. He opted to save the surprise for his wife.
“So, I decided to trick my wife. I left it unscratched and left it for her,” he said. “She scratched it off and about broke my neck, grabbing my neck and screaming so hard!”
$100 Million Cash Bonanza is a $20 scratchers ticket released that began in August 2014. The game still has more than $32 million in unclaimed cash prizes, including two $4 million top prizes and seven $100,000 second prizes. The odds of winning on a single scratch-off ticket are 1 in 3.28.
