ST. LOUIS – There’s a large police presence at a downtown hotel as police are responding to a hostage incident. Authorities say an armed man was holding a woman and children in a room.
This is at the Drury Hotel at 4th and Market. So far, there’s no word of any injuries or what floor the hostages are on. Police are treating the situation very seriously.
As of 9:30 a.m., two children from inside the room were released, and St. Louis police were able to evacuate guests from the building.

St. Louis City Police and a SWAT team are at the scene. Officers are urging locals to avoid the area if they can.
