The Fountain on Locust: a loved St. Louis, Missouri spot expands this year with a second location

I appreciate historic buildings and love how this business opened in an automobile showroom building that was built in 1916. Opening in 2008, The Fountain on Locust has been operating for over 15 years.

Joy Grdnic founded this fun Art Deco establishment. After she retired in 2021, ownership passed on to Danni and Marcus Eickenhorst. The Eickenhorsts are also co-owners of Steve’s Hot Dogs.

Is The Fountain on Locust a cafe, cocktail bar, or ice cream parlor? It’s all three and taking you back to the 1930s era. Reviewers of The Fountain are happy with this venue because it has so much to offer.

It’s a bonus venue with ice cream martinis. It’s also known for its Polish Dill Pickle Soup made from a family recipe that’s potato-based with crushed dill pickles.

The Fountain has received many awards. The Art Deco murals inside were hand-painted by Joy. She’s an artist too. This venue won the 2023 Feast 50 Award for Service.
