A total of nine Rockwood School District students from fourth through eighth grade earned recognition in the 2023 St. Louis Writers Guild Young Writers Awards competition. Eighth-graders Amanda Vache (Crestview Middle) and Cassidy Proost (LaSalle Springs Middle) placed first and second, respectively, in the Grades 6-8 age category. LaSalle Springs eighth-graders Haiden Antonacci and Brooke Schneider were also named among 10 finalists.
