I knew I’d won $100k on the lottery but used the barcode to ‘trick my wife,’ she was ‘screaming so hard’

MILLIONS dream of hitting it big on a scratch ticket, and some have plans for what they’d do with their prize.

One Missouri man decided his first move was to prank his wife with his $100,000 winning lottery ticket.

The man, who remained anonymous, bought a “$100 Million Cash Bonanza” scratch ticket at a Schnucks supermarket in Ballwin, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb.

The hijinks began when he decided to scan the barcode on the ticket before leaving the store.

“I usually take the tickets home to my wife and let her scratch them, but I decided to check it first before I left,” he told lotto officials in a news release.

He found out about the prize, and quickly hatched a plan.

Leaving the ticket unscratched, the husband brought home the ticket and let his wife scratch it off.

“So, I decided to trick my wife,” he said. “She scratched it off and about broke my neck grabbing my neck and screaming so hard.”

Luckily, he lived to tell the tale and collect the prize money off the $20 ticket.

HOW IT WORKS

Scratch tickets, unlike familiar drawing games like Powerball and Mega Millions, involve playing a small game on the card and scratching the surface off to reveal the prize.
