ST. LOUIS – Nearly a decade after Hanneke Hardware & Industrial Supply Co. shuttered its retail store on Southwest Avenue, a new hardware store is set to open near The Hill. Located catty-corner to the former Hanneke building, Ace Hardware in the coming months will open a new store at 5437 Southwest Ave., technically in the city’s Southwest Garden neighborhood, adjacent to The Hill. The space formerly held a Save A Lot grocery store that closed in December 2021.
