ST. LOUIS – Missouri is ranked ninth worst in the nation for food insecurity, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture . To help remedy that, St. Louis University is partnering with the Neighbors Credit Union and Operation Food Search.
It’s part of their ‘Block Out Hunger’ campaign. Every time a SLU basketball player on the men’s or women’s team blocks a shot during a game, neighbors will donate $20 to Operation Food Search. There have already been 98 blocks this season, raising nearly $2,000.
