SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The St. Louis Cardinals announced Thursday night that outfielder Lars Nootbaar will start a rehab assignment in Springfield Friday.
Nootbaar strained his oblique muscle on May 30th and expects to play five or six games in the minors before returning to the big league Cards.
The Cashew Chickens hit the diamond looking for two wins in a row against Arkansas.
The Travs scored three runs in the first three innings, thanks to two Springfield errors.
Arkansas added four in the top of the ninth and went onto win 7-2.
