Missouri Minute: Fed announces half-point rate cut; Boeing to furlough St. Louis employees

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson’s ban on all products containing intoxicating hemp has been paused, at least for now. The state’s Department of Health and Senior Services said Tuesday that state regulators will no longer ban sales of all products containing hemp-based THC. Instead, it will solely focus on products with labels that look appealing to children. Then, Amazon warehouse employees gathered outside the company’s St. Peters facility to rally for better pay and other demands Wednesday morning. Workers voiced a variety of complaints, including the dangers of the job not aligning with pay and feeling like the company values profit over its employees. Plus, the Fed cut interest rates by half a percentage point, the first and biggest cut since March 2020.
