Two adults were rescued, and three cats and two dogs died in a house fire in the 1800 block of Main Drive in High Ridge on Sept. 20. High Ridge Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a fire at the house at 8:45 a.m. According to a written statement, when firefighters arrived on the scene five minutes later, they saw the single-story house on fire and man climbing out of a window in the front of the house with the assistance of deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
