Rebuilding Together St. Louis helps homeowners in need of repairs, safety upgrades

ST. LOUIS – Many homeowners in the City of St. Louis and in St. Louis County are thankful for a group of volunteers dropping by their homes this weekend.

Rebuilding Together St. Louis, a local nonprofit group, is trying to not only help revitalize neighborhoods, but keep veterans and low-income seniors living in their homes through improvements, like repairs and safety upgrades.

On Saturday, it was all hands on deck.

“We got a bunch of volunteers out here, redoing the decks,” says Anthony Gartner, Construction Manager Rebuilding Together St. Louis.  “A lot of electrical throughout the house. Cleaning up and getting all the safety features right. Smoke detectors and grab bars and just making it safe.”
