In the first semifinal, Kahuku edged Mililani 8-6. A field goal block returned by Aiden Manutai for a touchdown and the ensuing two-point conversion in the second quarter ended up making all the difference. Mililani scored on a Tana Togafau-Tavui pass from Kini McMillan with 24.9 seconds left but did not have a successful two-point conversion or onside kick.
In the second semifinal, Saint Louis rallied to defeat Campbell 27-24. The Crusaders rallied from a 17-6 halftime deficit as star quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele missed the second half due to injury. For Saint Louis, star Titan Lacaden racked up 216 yards on 27 carries and three touchdowns.
The 2024 HHSAA Open Division championship will take place on Nov. 29 at UH-Manoa’s Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
