Fundraising efforts for a special veteran’s memorial in Grafton recently got a big shot in the arm. Alton attorney John Simmons, who is also an Army veteran, has signed on as co-chair of the National Memorial of Military Ascent. At a dinner on Monday – Veteran’s Day – Simmons announced a $2.5 million donation to the project.
