EUREKA, Mo. – This is a story of resilience and community support, as a Eureka family rebuilds from an unimaginable loss. The Bidermans are finding hope in the generosity of neighbors, who refuse to let them face this tragedy alone this holiday season.
The Bidermans lost their home in the 600 block of Grandview Ridge Court—and nearly their lives—in a devastating fire over a week ago.
After their dog woke them up, Geoff Biderman, his wife Breanna, and their young children, ages 3 and 5, managed to escape. Regrettably, the family lost one cat and hospitalized three others.

“It’s insane! We are beyond grateful. You know, this is something you see on the news—that it happens to other people. Never expecting that, you know, that in the flash of an eye, that we’ll lose everything, including our cars—everything,” Breanna Biderman said. “And the community coming together to help, it’s unbelievable.”
Four fire departments responded to the fire. A Eureka Fire Department spokesperson said it spread quickly from the garage. Although the cause of the fire remains unknown, investigators believe it was accidental.
