ST. LOUIS – One of the suspects allegedly involved in the shooting death of CBC student Colin Brown is set to appear in court Thursday.
Donovan Baucom is expected to appear before a judge at the Carnahan Courthouse Thursday. Baucom faces six felony counts: murder-first degree, three counts of armed criminal action , assault-first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon, shooting from a moving vehicle.
While Baucom claims he didn’t commit the crime, prosecutors allege otherwise. The attorney representing Baucom in court argues for his release, saying there was no evidence of motive or premeditation.
A court document says 28-year-old Baucom claims to have been driving as his cousin Garrett Jordan was shooting at another driver on the interstate, stemming from an incident on that nearby side street.
An errant bullet struck Brown as his father was driving him home from a hockey game along Interstate 55 in south St. Louis on Nov. 23. Brown died in a hospital days later.
