St. Louis police respond to fight at party with 300 teenagers, one teen arrested

ST. LOUIS – One teenager was arrested after St. Louis police responded to a large fight at a party overnight with nearly 300 teenagers.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports that the fight happened around 10:45 p.m. Friday in the 4200 block of Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis’ Central West End neighborhood.

Investigators say the fight broke out at a private teen party with hundreds of juveniles, ranging in age from 13 to 17.

When is the snowstorm expected near St. Louis?

According to a statement from Mitch McCoy, SLMPD’s Director of Public Affairs and Information, officers intervened and aimed to de-escalate the situation with verbal commands and strategic positioning. At some point, an “officer in need of aid” call was announced due to the crowd size.

Several juveniles were detained for questioning and later released to their parents or guardians. One juvenile was taken into custody for reportedly using pepper spray on an officer.

No serious injuries were reported from the fight or officers’ response.
