ST. LOUIS – The man accused of kidnapping and killing a Clayton mother in November is due in court Tuesday. The hearing will determine if there’s enough evidence to move forward with a trial.
Anjuan Mosby, 43, is expected to face a judge Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing at the Carnahan Courthouse in downtown St. Louis. Mosby is accused of kidnapping 37-year-old Michelle Hampton outside her home in Clayton on Nov. 20th.
Investigators say Mosby forced Hampton to withdraw money from multiple banks before shooting her in an alley in north St. Louis.

Federal court documents reveal Hampton was targeted over a $40,000 settlement she was holding for her brother. The suspect was dating Hampton’s sister, Samantha, who had told him about the settlement.
Mosby was indicted by a grand jury in December and he is currently in custody without bond. If convicted, Mosby could face life in prison or the death penalty. His alleged accomplice, 36-year-old Emmanuel Suarez, is also charged in the case.
