St. Louis City officials set to address 2024 crime statistics

ST. LOUIS – Combating crime in the city of St. Louis will be the focus of a major event with prominent city leaders on Tuesday.

St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, City Police Chief Robert Tracy, and Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore will speak Tuesday afternoon about the crime statistics in the city during 2024. The press conference will take place at 1 p.m. at the Delmar Divine Complex, a redeveloped area with a mix of residences and businesses.

A release from Mayor Jones is touting a 15% reduction in overall crime in the city of St. Louis last year compared to 2023. Jones says the 150 homicides in the city last year were the lowest number of murders in the city of St. Louis since 2013, and represents a 43% decrease during her administration.
