St. Louis homeless advocacy group admits it shared false information about unhoused person freezing to death

ST. LOUIS — An unfounded claim about a homeless person freezing to death in St. Louis recently was shared by numerous people in the area. The original poster of the misinformation just confirmed it wasn’t true.

Any Means Necessary, a local community advocacy group, confirmed information it previously shared about the death of the unhoused person was false.

“The information that was sent to us about a possible unhoused being found deceased isn’t true, and we apologize for the confusion,” the group said in a Wednesday Facebook post. “Please understand that a life is nothing to play about, we check all sources and have spoke with the medical examiner office and multiple detectives.”…
