Overnight Warming Locations Spread Warmth and Love Over Madison County

Madison County communities are slowly starting to provide shelter to those who not only live on the streets or in their cars, but also residents who are without heat on the coldest nights due to a broken heater, power outage, or a temporary inability to pay their electric bill. Overnight Warming Locations (OWLs) began in 2019 with just one location in Alton. In 2023, a location opened in Edwardsville and in January, Granite City started up.
