Missouri University is Closing with 80 Faculty to Lose Their Jobs

If you think it’s a challenging landscape for business, the same can be said for higher education as a Missouri university will be closing which will mean 80 faculty members will be losing their jobs.

The Missouri Jobs site shows a new WARN notice that will affect many at a long-standing university. It shows that Fontbonne University in Clayton, Missouri will begin layoffs starting on April 1, 2025.

The original announcement that Fontbonne University would be closing was made by the school on March 11, 2024 when they said that their doors would close after the Summer 2025 session, but this layoff notice is new today. They shared the following:

“This is a very difficult time for students and employees. Fontbonne University offers confidential, professional counseling.”…
