Convicted felon sentenced to 40 months after St. Louis County standoff

A convicted felon involved in a law enforcement standoff in St. Louis County has been sentenced to 40 months in prison. U.S. District Judge Audrey G. Fleissig issued the sentence on Wednesday.

Randy Wilkes, 43, pleaded guilty in November to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He admitted to possessing a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol when confronted by the U.S. Marshals Service and St. Louis County police on Oct. 5, 2022.

Law enforcement officials arrived at Wilkes’ residence in the 10400 block of Gardo Court in Bellefontaine Neighbors to arrest him on outstanding felony warrants related to two violent domestic assaults, according to a sentencing memorandum filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Martin.
