Man robs south St. Louis bank Saturday morning, police say

ST. LOUIS — Wearing a gray jacket, jeans and carrying a black backpack, a man walked into a St. Louis bank Saturday morning and handed a teller a note, demanding all the money, a Sunday morning statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

A thin man with short hair, the suspect robbed the bank in the 6300 block of Chippewa Street. A Commerce Bank branch location is the only bank in that block.

“The teller complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who then left the bank and was last seen eastbound on Chippewa,” the Sunday morning written statement from St. Louis police said…
