ST. LOUIS — For nearly 23 years, Carol Hemphill was simply “Jane Doe,” her identity unknown. But relentless detective work and cutting-edge DNA technology have led to police confirming her identity. Her family finally has some of the answers they’ve been waiting for.
“It’s a bittersweet moment. It means a lot. It still hurts pretty bad. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time,” said Catricia Hemphill, the victim’s daughter.
