The Kansas City has welcomed hyperscale data centers in recent years, as the city council approved tax incentives for Meta and Google to build the centers there in 2021. The companies projected financial gains for public schools and the city in general, but so far, the return has not been close to the original prediction, partially due to construction delays. Then, tornadoes ripped through southeast Missouri Friday night, leading to significant damages and more than 10 fatalities. Gov. Mike Kehoe visited impacted areas of the state on Saturday, saying that resources would be available to those affected. 19 tornadoes were reported statewide, including in Rolla and St. Louis County. Also, in an update to the reinstatement of laid off federal workers, a second federal judge has ruled that thousands of federal employees must be reinstated.
