Burger King employees who hunkered down during EF2 tornado share their story

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – On Friday night, at least nine tornadoes tore through the St. Louis region. The National Weather Service says one of the tornados developed on the east side of Villa Ridge in Franklin County just before 9:00 pm. The EF2 tornado hit the gas station and attached Burger King off Highway 100.

Thirteen people, including employees, customers and people who sought shelter were rescued from inside.

“It happened so fast. The first thing we noticed was the ground vibrating. Everything was vibrating and you knew something was wrong. Then it got crazier and crazier as I’m screaming, the glass is just breaking and everyone’s running,” said Ayse Fox, the shift leader at Burger King that night…
