This new alert was just shared by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services this week. It’s a warning directed especially at travelers based on a CDC alert about the ongoing risk of dengue virus infections. Cases of this disease have skyrocketed over the past 5 years according to the World Health Organization.

Here are some stunning stats. 2 years ago, dengue infections caused 2,400 deaths. Last year, the fatalities zoomed to over 8,200.
