Shots fired inside Ferguson apartment building prompts large police response

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — No one was injured when multiple shots were fired inside a four-story apartment building in Ferguson Tuesday afternoon.

Ferguson police spokesperson Pat Washington said around a dozen officers were at the scene investigating the incident at Versailles Apartments on Northwind Estates Drive. Multiple shell casings were found inside a hallway.

Capt. Harry Dilworth with the Ferguson Police Department said that based on the initial call, they treated it as a possible active shooter incident, prompting a large response as officers searched the building and knocked on doors to make sure residents were safe…
