In a sorrowful social media announcement, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department in Belleville, Illinois, reported the loss of one of their own, Deputy Sheriff Lamont Reid, who succumbed to a fatal heart attack after responding to a call. According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department’s post, Reid had been part of a team assisting in the search for a suicidal individual, a task consummate with the daily risks and emotional tolls our law enforcers routinely face.
