ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – New charges related to a February armed robbery were filed Friday against an 18-year-old accused in a March crash that caused a St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer to lose part of his leg.
St. Louis prosecutors charged Mekhi R. Campbell with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and armed criminal action in relation to a Feb. 26 assault and robbery of a 60-year-old woman on the parking lot of a Wells Fargo at 2801 Market Street.
According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police probable cause statement, Campbell and another suspect, who was not named in the document, struck the victim in the head with a handgun and took her purse.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for her injuries…
