The storms will move quickly, traveling at speeds of 50-60 mph, which means their impact will be swift. Areas from noon to 4 p.m. will experience the initial wave of severe weather, followed by a second round between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., and the most intense period from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. As conditions continue to develop, the NWS warns that a few tornadoes, potentially of EF2 strength, could also form.
