FBI arrest 22 international suspects for sextortion of teenage boys

ST. LOUIS — A global scheme putting kids at risk is being addressed by the FBI in the greater St. Louis area. Federal authorities call sextortion a crime on the rise. They say that more than 20 international suspects are now in custody awaiting their day in court in the U.S. The St. Louis field office of the FBI played a role in nabbing the suspects.

5 On Your Side questioned the Acting Special Agent in Charge about this global operation Thursday evening. Joe Weston says criminals are targeting teenagers, mainly boys, convincing them to hand over inappropriate images.
