Officers were dispatched to a residence on the 4100 block of Farlin Avenue following a shooting alert at about 4:25 p.m. Upon arrival, police discovered a 35-year-old woman unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and a 42-year-old woman, also wounded by gunfire but conscious. According to a statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, emergency medical services pronounced the younger woman deceased at the scene, while the second victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The exact circumstances leading to the shooting, remain unclear, with homicide detectives dedicating their efforts to unraveling the events that led to the violent incident.
