Man steals Dollar General laundry detergent at gunpoint: Record

ST. LOUIS – A 38-year-old St. Louis man is facing charges after stealing several containers of laundry detergent from a Dollar General store Wednesday.

According to court documents, Bennie Shelton walked into a Dollar General along North Grand Boulevard and asked an employee where the laundry detergent was. When he was shown they were behind the cashier counter, Shelton allegedly walked behind the counter and put eight bottles of detergent in a duffle bag.

He began to walk out when the employee confronted him. Shelton then pulled out a gun and left, without returning the items…
