Mother, children living in fear amid tornado damage

ST. LOUIS – A mother of three is living in fear as a massive city-owned tree remains lodged in her roof nearly six weeks after the May 16 tornado struck.

The tree, originating from a vacant LRA lot, was uprooted by the storm and slammed into the home, causing significant damage.

“It’s an LRA lot on the side of my house; they own this tree with the ash pit attached to it. The tornado ripped it up out of the ground and threw it into my house and it’s been there. They’ve been giving us the runaround about coming to get it. We have work numbers after work numbers. And we’re at a standstill till they get it off the house,” Janai Holt told FOX 2…
