ST. LOUIS—A local car dealership owner appointed by Gov. Kehoe this week to the new St. Louis Police board tells Spectrum News he will recuse himself from the board’s deliberations over vehicle purchases.
Don Brown was one of five appointees introduced Monday who will join St. Louis mayor Cara Spencer on the panel. Pending Senate approval next year, Brown is set to be a non-voting member for a four-year term. The positions are unpaid.
In the current 2025 fiscal year, the city of St. Louis is paying Brown’s Chevrolet dealership more than $1.6 million for services, with $1.3 million of that coming from the police department.
