St. Louis Police Seek Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving Local Man, Community Calls for Justice

A recent hit-and-run incident in St. Louis has left the community in mourning and police searching for the driver responsible. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) identified 58-year-old Lionell Alexander of St. Louis City as the victim. Alexander was hit by a vehicle on the evening of last Friday, and he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, according to official statements.

Detectives from the 6th District are looking for a light-colored Mercury Mountaineer, which was captured on surveillance footage near the scene. The suspect vehicle had Missouri Temp Tag displayed on the rear, and the driver was described as a black female, aged 20-30, with a heavy build, a medium complexion with a mole on the left side of her face, and she was wearing a bonnet. Accident Reconstruction teams were called to the scene to investigate the fatal collision that occurred at approximately 7:30 pm, when a vehicle turning from Pope onto W. Florissant struck Alexander.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. To provide a tip anonymously and possibly receive a cash reward, individuals are encouraged to contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be directly reported to SLMPD detectives at 314-444-0001, but only tips that lead to a felony arrest through CrimeStoppers are eligible for rewards.
