23-year-old arrested for deadly STL hit-and-run incident

ST. LOUIS – A 23-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on June 20 in the O’Fallon neighborhood in St. Louis.

Officials have charged Jayla Collins with second-degree involuntary manslaughter, as well as leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.

The incident happened just off of Pope and West Florissant after 7:30 p.m., in which Lionell Alexander, 58, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling northbound. Officials alleged that Collins, who was driving a Mercury Mountaineer, left the scene, prompting police to begin a search…
