Stolen car case highlights issues with St. Louis 911 system

ST. LOUIS – A possible flaw in the emergency response system has been exposed by a man whose car was stolen from a well-known spot.

The theft happened last Friday in the shadow of the iconic Amoco sign near Forest Park, where Tommy Pisciotta’s car was stolen right after he pulled in to grab his Starbucks.

According to Pisciotta, he stood in the parking lot on hold with 911, on and off, for 27 minutes—before finally taking an Uber to St. Louis Police Headquarters to file his report…
