ST. LOUIS – Uyama Umana Hollinshed thought a prayer had been answered when a nonprofit offered to clear the rest of the remaining debris from her home after the May 16th tornado destroyed it.
Instead, she learned there are certain requirements for specific demolition, and she’s responsible for the cost.
“$18,900 dollars. The payment has to come from me, who has lost everything,” Umana-Hollinshed said. “Where would I get that from, you know?”
