The window for seniors in St. Louis County to apply for the property tax freeze has officially closed, with a notable number of applications received by the county. As of Monday, the county had received a whopping 82,132 applications for the year 2024, with nearly 60% of those being submitted online, according to the St. Louis County Government’s news release. The county’s Revenue team is currently sifting through the applications to identify any inconsistencies or missing information. “If there are further questions or information needed for your application, our Revenue team will be reaching out to you to resolve them,” said a county spokesperson. Approvals are set to begin this week and will roll out until October 1. Applicants will be notified via email about the status of their applications, and they can also check their status online for updates, as per the St. Louis County Government.

The county will start the application process for the second year of the program in October. Details on this will be provided as the date approaches, offering another opportunity for eligible seniors to benefit from the tax relief measures enacted by the state…
